Here’s what we all need to know about parking…

Parking spaces are available on a first come first served basis, but DO NOT PARK IN ANY OF THE SPACES IN FRONT OF THE SMALL DOG PARK ON WEEKDAYS BEFORE 4:00PM!!! Those spaces are reserved for Connecting Point employees.

One of the ways the church makes money is to rent out unused space during the week. This applies to both the building as well as their parking lots.

CONNECTING POINT
Connecting Point is a day program for adults with disabilities. They rent space from the church. The spaces bordering the small dog park are part of Connecting Point’s lease with the church. They will report anyone to the church who parks in these spaces. If you see someone who parks in one of those spaces, please politely ask them to move their vehicle.

If you are approached by someone from Connecting Point regarding parking or any other issue, please direct them to the church office. If they are not willing to do that, you should go to the church office and report the incident.

CONTRACTOR PARKING
The church allows contractors working in the Highland Park area to park in the parking lot. There are times that parking is very limited at the park as a result. If need be, you can always park in front of the church.

You can use the restrooms inside the church. On weekdays and Sundays, you should be able to get into the church through the back doors. The women’s restroom is immediately to the left. The men’s restroom is to the right after you walk in.

If you are not able to get in the back doors (make sure you try both), you can go and buzz the church office at the entrance by the prayer garden. This entrance is located to the right side of the back of the church. There is a buzzer by the door. If someone is in the church office, they will let you in. Ask them to direct you to the restrooms from this entrance.

Yes, we have a first aid kit. It is located on the north east end of the park in the standing lockers. Please use it as needed.

On the rare occasions that we do not have water at the dog park, you can get water from a spigot by the church. There is a area between the Connecting Point entrance and the main back doors just to the right of the trash bins. If you walk up near the church building, you will see an area on the ground that is covered by a venting grate. You will find the spigot located in this area on the church building.

There is frequently a loud pitched squeaking sound during the summer. This is the church’s air conditioning system and nothing to be alarmed about.

Yes. This lending library was donated with the intent of it being a usable lending library. That means that you can take a book, read it, and bring it back later. Feel free to contribute books that you’ve read or periodicals for others to enjoy as well.

Books are switched out from time to time. They are taken to Half Price Books, and the proceeds are donated to the park for maintenance. Periodicals are recycled.

To learn more about libraries like these, please go to the Little Free Library website.

There are no employees at the dog park. If you see someone doing something, they are most likely volunteering. We do have a pet waste service that removes waste from the park twice a week. We also have a company that sprays for mosquitos each month.

There are several people who volunteer by helping coordinate park activities and managing communications to our dog park community. If you would like to communicate with one of these individuals, you can do that by clicking on contact us in the website menu or by emailing centraldogpark@gmail.com.
